Operations

OPERATIONS MANAGER – South Coast Repertory seeks experienced Operations Manager to oversee SCR’s facilities and plant operations, including maintenance, safety and security. Position performs and/or supervises all maintenance and scheduling for SCR facilities including an 80,000-sq. ft. theatre facility, a 17,000-sq. ft. off-site production facility, and seven condominiums. Supervises 2 F/T positions and 3 P/T positions. Must have a Bachelor's degree and/or 4 years' relevant experience that includes budget management and staff supervision. Knowledge of theatre and/or non-profit arts helpful but not required. Production

PROPS MASTER/PROP SHOP MANAGER - South Coast Repertory seeks a Props Master.  This position reports to the Production Manager, and is responsible for managing the properties shop and a three person crew in the production of a 13 show season.  Duties include working with designers to research and clarify properties needs, creating budget estimates and plans from properties lists, engineering solutions to challenging elements, purchasing materials and creating maintenance plans, tracking and adhering to show and departmental budgets and managing department staff and overhire in the building, installation and strike of all shows and events.  A B.A. in technical theater and a minimum of two years of Supervisory level experience are preferred; demonstrated expertise in prop-related technologies and techniques, strong communication and collaborative skills and familiarity with standard graphics and design programs are required.  Seasonal contract runs late August to June.  Competitive salary, benefits and 403b.  SCR values diversity in the workplace and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  Send letter and resume to Josh Marchesi, Production Manager, P.O. STAGE MANAGEMENT INTERNS – South Coast Repertory, a LORT B, D and TYA theatre is seeking Stage Management Interns for its 2010-2011 season of classic and new plays, produced in a three-theatre complex.  Season runs from August through early- June.  Several stipend positions are available, ranging from single shows to full season internships. Interns will work with the resident stage management staff and will have responsibilities during both rehearsals and production run(s), so previous experience is preferred.  Full season internships can culminate in stage management projects with our conservatory program.  Applications are sought from highly motivated students (graduate students encouraged) and recent graduates.  Housing is not provided.  SCR is Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in all areas of its operation. Audition/Casting Information

South Coast Repertory operates its Segerstrom and Argyros Stage theatres under LORT (League of Resident Theatres) “B” and “C” contracts. The theatre also produces three Theatre for Young Audiences productions and a yearly Educational Touring Production that operate under a TYA contract.

Union Talent - SCR casts its season on a show by show basis. Photos and resumes from Los Angeles area actors only may be submitted for specific productions. As a rule, actors outside the LA area are not considered for casting purposes.

Non-Union Talent - From time to time, in accord with the guidelines of Actors Equity and the League of Resident Theatres, SCR is able to hire non-union talent. Photos and resumes accompanied by a cover letter may be submitted to the casting director.
