School and Community Programs


With input from its Education and Outreach Committee, SCR offers a comprehensive array of programs to make live theatre available to everyone in our community. Check out the many ways we connect theatre and young people.

Theatre for Young Audiences arrow
SCR’s series of three plays especially for young people and their families.

Neighborhood Acting Classes arrow
Free after-school acting classes and workshops at select local elementary schools and community centers.

Theatre Discovery Project
Affordable tickets for students to select SCR productions of important literary works; educators receive a study guide.

Bring Your Class to SCR arrow
SCR has more student group opportunities than ever, including stage productions during class time. Visit the teacher resource page for study guides, videos and articles.

Theatre Access
Groups of under-served high school and college students receive free admission to productions through the Theatre Access program. Call (714) 708-5549 or email janis@scr.org for more information.

MyStage arrow
The MyStage program is specially designed for 15-to 25-year-olds. Members get special $10 discounted tickets for shows at South Coast Repertory.
Supported by Macy's Foundation.

Seniors, full-time students, educators and students in the Theatre Conservatory’s Adult Acting and Playwriting Classes also qualify for reduced-price tickets to SCR productions.

The long-term development of Theatre for Young Audiences and other educational programs at SCR is greatly assisted by the establishment of endowment funds.
