Gala Chair Jean Weiss
Gala Chair Jean Weiss celebrates at a previous gala with her husband Tim.

Gala Ball

SCR’s Gala Ball became the area’s first-ever white tie event 30 years ago when the fund-raising party opened the theatre’s Costa Mesa complex. Since then, whether the ties are white or black, the SCR Gala represents the official opening of Orange County’s theatrical and social seasons.

This year's event, "A Midsummer Night's Dream: Celebrating 45 Years of South Coast Repertory," chaired by Jean Weiss, will continue the tradition on September 6, 2008 at 6 PM at The St. Regis Monarch Beach.  Don't miss out on the fun!  For more information, please call 714-708-5504.

SCR Circle Events
Experience the Art of Theatre at SCR

Throughout the season, SCR Circle members enjoy special events designed to enhance their theatre-going experiences.  Among the favorites are intimate discussions with dramaturgs, directors, playwrights, and designers during the rehearsal period; presentations by the technical director, costume and property shop managers and other artisans as the production is being mounted; and a peek at rehearsals during “tech” week prior to previews.

For more information please call 714-708-5590

Friends Seminars
Take an Inside Look

Friends and Circle Members gather for a glass of wine and an insightful discussion about each production and learn about the show through the eyes of the artists. Each discussion, followed by a Q&A, is led by the production’s dramaturg and is held every Friday afternoon before the First Nights performance.  Join us for an inside look at SCR’s latest production.

For more information please call 714-708-5574.
