Acting For The Camera

Look for this class in a future session.

Make the acting adjustment from the stage to the intimacy of the camera in a fun, supportive learning environment. Discover your personal strengths and see how your personality translates on camera and how others perceive you, in order to better understand your unique niche in the industry. We will discuss the business of acting, from headshots, resumes and building credits to becoming part of the crew on the classroom set. We’ll take the fear out of the casting process as you walk a class in a casting director's shoes. You’ll learn on-camera audition techniques and blocking for the camera — from small, under-five roles that are intended to move a story along to larger scenes that put you in the lead. Watch to see if the camera finds you listening to your scene partner or if it catches you thinking about your next line.

Enrollment is limited. Prerequisite: At least one year of actor training and ability to memorize.
