KIDS and TEEN Acting Classes
“I’ve seen my children’s confidence grow exponentially thanks to the training they’ve received at SCR. They both have a profound appreciation for the power of language and imagination and can see for themselves the impact words and stories have on people. I have no idea where life will lead them, but I can say with certainty that whatever path they choose, it will be a road paved with the lessons they learned at SCR. “
For more than 45 years, Tony Award-winning South Coast Repertory has stood at the forefront of theatre in America. And from the outset, the Theatre Conservatory has been an integral part of SCR, offering an enriching program of acting classes for all ages.
Starting at 8 years of age, children throughout the community participate in a unique approach to the acting experience. They are encouraged to use their limitless potential in a setting that provides positive reinforcement and instills a love of theatre that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
After nine exciting weeks exploring the creative process, fall and winter sessions culminate with in-class demonstrations where students share their experience with family and friends. In the spring, students go onstage, presenting their class projects in one of SCR's state-of-the-art theatres.
This progressive, three-session program (fall, winter, spring) corresponds with the school year. Students may enter in fall or winter.
The spring session is for returning students only.
Classes meet weekly in SCR’s safe, air-conditioned Education Center.
