CHILDREN'S ACTING CLASSES horizontal rule

FALL Session: September 16 - November 22, 2008

Registration for new students begins July 28, 2008

TUITION: $255 per 10 week session. $225 discounted price for sibling.

Welcome to SCR's Youth and Teen Acting Classes for Southern California kids of all ages and every level of training since 1974. SCR's summer acting camp, Summer Theatre Workshop, begins July 28, 2008.

• Fun and formative acting classes for young people.
• Ongoing training throughout the school year in fall, winter and spring sessions.
• Available to kids of every grade - third through twelfth.
• And every level of experience – beginners to serious acting students.
• Taught by faculty of theatre professionals.

Metamorphoses
As the narrator (Julia Ostmann, in rear) tells their story, Hermes (Jordan Bellow, left) separates Eurydice (Kendall Horn) from Orpheus (Mikey DeBenedetto) who remembers reaching for her again and again in SCR's Teen Players production of Metamorphoses.

Classes meet weekly in SCR's safe, air-conditioned Folino Theatre Center complex.

The four-year YOUTH PROGRAM introduces students to the world of theatre through creative dramatics and acting experiences, with emphasis on development of self-esteem, self-confidence and personal expression.

The TEEN PROGRAM is a three-to-five year program for middle and high school students, who are continuing their training (or discovering a love of theatre for the first time). Emphasis is on personal and creative expression through exploration of the dramatic arts.

END-OF-YEAR PERFORMANCES - Fall and winter sessions conclude with in-class demonstrations for parents. At the end of the spring session parents and friends are invited to Performance Projects on SCR's Segerstrom, Argyros and Nicholas stages.

For more information or to enroll, please call at 714-708-5577.
