Press Release - A Christmas Carol: A Family Affair

Cast includes 16 Theatre Conservatory students

COSTA MESA, CA. (November 15, 2011) – The cast of South Coast Repertory’s 32nd annual production of A Christmas Carol includes 33 actors, 16 of them from the Theatre Conservatory’s Kids and Teen Acting Program.

The young students alternate in eight roles, allowing them time to share the holidays at home with their families as well as onstage with the SCR family, which includes Director John-David Keller, who has staged the show every year, and the inimitable Hal Landon Jr., SCR’s one and only Scrooge.

Keller holds auditions for the young actors’ roles, choosing from Conservatory students who have completed at least a year of training. According to Keller, “So many of our actors and other artists have been a part of A Christmas Carol through the seasons and are a very special group; however, most of the youngsters are newcomers, so it’s great fun to see the joyful fresh faces and welcome them to our cast of professionals.”

The young actors include Alison Wexler/Jennifer Frazin (Martha Cratchit), Alex Kinsbursky/Christopher Huntley (Peter Cratchit), Chaney Lieberman/Emme O’Toole (Belinda Cratchit), Kylee Aitken/Nick Charles Currie (Tiny Tim), Brooke Boukather/Lindsey Wiercioch (Fan/Teen Girl), Shelby Hayes/Sophia LaFrance (Girl About Town), Huxley Matthew Berg/Tristan Steward (Boy Ebenezer), Max Salinger/Josef Frankhouse (Turkey Boy).
