Press - Bach at Leipzig

BACH AT LEIPZIG
by Itamar Moses
directed by Art Manke
September 24 - October 15, 2006
Julianne Argyros Stage

When the organ master at Leipzig’s Thomaskirche expired in 1722, the search was on for a replacement.  While history reveals the coveted post went to a genius more than equal to the task, rising young playwright Itamar Moses imagines the schemes, plots and counterplots of the also-rans in Bach at Leipzig. This new comedy runs on South Coast Repertory’s Julianne Argyros Stage, September 29 through October 15, 2006 (low-priced previews September 24-28).
