Press - Ridiculous Fraud

RIDICULOUS FRAUD
by Beth Henley
directed by Sharon Ott
October 13 - November 19, 2006
Segerstrom Stage

The author of “Crimes of the Heart” is back in the Old South with a story of three brothers bonded by love and jealousy in this affectionately absurd comedy about the “nature” of human nature.  The patriarch of the Clay family is in jail for an unspecified white-collar crime, which is distressing to the entire family, especially for his grown sons, Andrew, Kap and Lafcad. Such behavior doesn’t suit the reputation of a once-aristocratic family like the Clays of New Orleans, especially when Lafcad has backed out of his wedding and someone is going to have to pay off the jilted bride’s parents. Beth Henley’s Ridiculous Fraud runs on South Coast Repertory’s Segerstrom Stage from October 20 through November 19, 2006 (low priced previews October 13 – October 19).
