Single Tickets for SCR’s 44th Season on Sale August 12. A Christmas Carol and La Posada Mágica Tickets on Sale August 26

COSTA MESA, Calif. (August 2, 2007)—Single tickets for South Coast Repertory’s 44th Season will go on sale to the general public on Sunday, August 12. Tickets to SCR’s annual holiday presentations of A Christmas Carol and La Posada Mágica (The Magical Journey) will go on sale on Sunday, August 26. Tickets may be purchased online at www.scr.org, by phone at (714) 708-5555 or in person at the SCR box office. Please visit the SCR website for a complete schedule of performance dates and times.

Segerstrom and Julianne Argyros Stage:  Single tickets range from $20 - $70. The 2007-08 Season features A Little Night Music (Sept. 7 – Oct. 7), Shipwrecked! An Entertainment – The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (As Told by Himself) (Sept. 23 – Oct. 14), Doubt (Oct. 19 – Nov. 18), A Feminine Ending (Jan. 6 – 27), The Importance of Being Earnest (Feb. 8 – March 9), Culture Clash in AmeriCCa (March 16 – April 6), (Segerstrom TBA) (April 4 – May 4), (Argyros TBA) (April 20 – May 11), and Taking Steps (May 16 – June 15). Discounts are available for full-time students, patrons 25 years of age and under, educators, seniors and groups of 15 or more.

Theatre for Young Audiences:  Single tickets range from $15 to $27. The TYA season features The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) (Nov. 2 – 18), Charlotte’s Web (Feb. 8 – 24) and Imagine (May 30 – June 15). Discounts are available for children 12 and under.

Holiday ShowsA Christmas Carol will be presented on the Segerstrom Stage from Nov. 24 through Dec. 24 with ticket prices ranging from $23 - $55. La Posada Mágica (The Magical Journey) will be presented on the Julianne Argyros Stage from Dec. 7 – 23 with ticket prices ranging from $15 - $35. The Target Family Performance of La Posada Mágica on December 22 features a special 11am curtain time and low-priced tickets ($14 - $24). Holiday show discounts are available for children 12 and under, and groups of 15 or more. For group sales, call the SCR Box Office.

SEASON SUBSCRIPTIONS:  Subscriptions to SCR’s complete season of nine plays range from $270 to $486. Segerstrom Season subscriptions (5 plays) range from $150 to $270 and Julianne Argyros Season subscriptions (4 plays) $120 to $216, with additional discounts available for full-time students, patrons 25 years of age and under, educators, seniors and new patrons under 35 years of age. Theatre for Young Audience subscriptions consist of three plays and range from $39 to $75. NewSCRipts subscriptions to four Monday night readings and a special subscriber choice reading at the Pacific Playwrights Festival are $48.

EARLY WEDNESDAYS:  In response to patron requests for earlier weekday curtain times, all Wednesday evening performances in the Segerstrom Stage will begin at 7:30 p.m. next season.

LOCATION:  South Coast Repertory is located at 655 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa, at the Bristol Street/Avenue of the Arts exit off the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Folino Theater Center, part of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Parking is available off Anton Blvd. on Park Center Drive.

Tony Award-winning South Coast Repertory, under the artistic direction of David Emmes and Martin Benson, is widely recognized as one of the leading professional theaters in the United States. Founded in 1964, SCR is committed to theater that illuminates the compelling personal and social issues of our time, not only on its stages but through its education and outreach programs. While its productions represent a balance of classic and modern theater, SCR is renowned for its extensive new play development program, including the Pacific Playwrights Festival. Of SCR’s more than 400 productions, 103 have been world premieres with subsequent stagings achieving enormous success across America and around the world. SCR-developed works have garnered eight Pulitzer Prize nominations with Margaret Edson’s Wit winning the prize in 1999 and David Lindsay-Abaire’s Rabbit Hole in 2007.   Located in Costa Mesa, California, in 2002 SCR opened the Folino Theater Center, an expanded three-theater complex that includes the 507-seat Segerstrom Stage, the 336-seat Julianne Argyros Stage and the 94-seat Nicholas Studio.
