Mikimoto Hosts Pearl of a Party
It’s a wrap! On October 28, the 2010 “The Play’s the Thing” Gala Ball Committee thanked its intrepid Chair Sophie Cripe with a wrap party underwritten by Mikimoto, South Coast Plaza—the perfect spot for shopping and celebrating.
When they gathered in the elegant boutique for the 11:30am reception, Committee members didn’t just window-shop—they actually shopped, with 15% of all proceeds benefiting South Coast Repertory.
As they oohed and aahed over the Mikimoto jewelry, especially its collections of Black South Sea and Akoya Cultured Pearls, SCR Producing Artistic Director David Emmes took the opportunity to thank the Committee for its successful Gala, and to present Gala Chair Sophie Cripe with two gifts—a photo album of the Gala and a multicolored shawl with dominate purple swirls.
Then everyone shopped some more before taking the elevator to Marché Moderne for a delectable three-course luncheon underwritten by—who else?—Mikimoto!
It was a perfect ending to a perfect Gala, prompting Sophie to add her thanks for the Committee’s hard work that resulted in a net contribution to SCR’s Annual Fund of $548,000 ($18,000 over its goal) and to announce that it’s not too soon to start planning the 2011 Gala, which will be held on Saturday, September 10 at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel.
