New York Tour Itinerary

This is only a SAMPLE itinerary.

Thursday, May 24
We depart in the morning from Orange County on our nonstop flight to New York, arriving in the late afternoon. We will then transfer via private coach to the first-class Millennium Broadway Hotel, just off Times Square, directly in the heart of Broadway’s Theatre District. After check-in,join us for a welcome dinner party at a local restaurant.

Friday, May 25
Our day will start with a private sightseeing bus tour of the city. We will become acquainted (or re-acquainted) with the marvelous grid of Manhattan from Wall Street at the southern tip, where colonial-era churches and monuments endure in the shadow of the Federal Reserve Bank, the Stock Exchange and towering office buildings, all the way to the serene Cathedral of St. John the Divine on the upper West Side. Our first stop will be the 911 Memorial in Lower Manhattan. Occupying eight of the 16 acres at the World Trade Center, the Memorial is a tribute to the past and aplace of hope for the future. Afterwards, it will be the famous Apollo Theatre for a behind-the-scenes look at this amazing historic landmark that probably exerted a greater influence upon popular culture than any other entertainment venue in the world. Tonight, our first Broadway production will be The Book of Mormon.

Saturday, May 26
In the morning we will attend a brunch and theatre forum at The Players. This private club, founded in 1888 by the greatest American actor of his time, Edwin Booth,still caters to a membership of people connected to “theatre, music, literature and the arts.” It houses the Hampden-Booth Theatre Library, considered the finest repository of theatre references, art and memorabilia of its kind. In the afternoon, we will meet with guides who will lead personalized walking tours throughout the city.You might find yourself visiting the Lower East Side Garment District, SoHo’s eclectic art galleries and boutiques,colorful Chinatown and Little Italy, or the hustle &bustle of Midtown and the magnificent Grand Central Terminal. Tonight, Manhattan is yours to enjoy on your own. Need an idea? You can speak with one of our knowledgeable guides.

Sunday, May 27
After your morning breakfast, guides will accompany you down to the foot of Manhattan for the ferry over to the Ellis Island Museum. This remarkable complex is a testament to the spirit and courage of all those who found their way here from foreign lands. No other place or museum explains so well the “melting pot” that formed the unique character of New York and the nation. This afternoon we will attend a matinee performance of our second new Broadway production, War Horse.

Monday, May 28
The morning will start with breakfast at New York’s most renowned delicatessen, Carnegie Deli. Founded in 1937,the world famous Carnegie Deli is a true New York City landmark, described as a place where your “taste buds have gone to heaven and your waist line has gone to hell.” Afterwards, another morning of walking tours is planned. This time, try a different Manhattan tour or even another borough of New York. There’s so much to see in Brooklyn with Brooklyn Heights and the Brooklyn Museum or head north to the Bronx for a visit to the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Gardens. The afternoon and evening are free.

Tuesday, May 29
This morning we will head north up Riverside Drive to The Cloisters. Located on four acres overlooking the Hudson River in northern Manhattan’s Fort Tryon Park, this splendid complex of medieval cloisters, chapels and halls is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum devoted entirely to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. In the afternoon,we will travel to the Metropolitan Museum where we will be able to wander at our leisure through the collections of our choice. Tonight, our third Broadway production.

Wednesday, May 30
The morning is free to explore the city on your own or just catch up on some last minute shopping. We will be departing for the airport in the late afternoon. Your flight arrives back in Orange County in the evening.
