What if I arrive late to my performance or have to leave my seat during a performance?
To cause the least disruption, SCR patrons who have not entered the theatre when the performance begins will be asked to watch the show on our lobby monitors until an appropriate break in the performance. Latecomers, as well as those who leave the theatre anytime during the performance, may be assisted to alternate seats by the House Manager at an appropriate interval and may then take their assigned seats at intermission. SCR accepts no liability for inconvenience. Please note: Plays in the Nicholas Studio do not allow for late seating.
What if I lose my tickets?
Patrons who misplace their tickets may arrange for duplicates through SCR Ticket Services. Call (714) 708-5555 for assistance.
May I exchange my tickets?
Yes! Subscribers may exchange their tickets for another performance of the same play up to 4 hours before curtain, with no service fee (single tickets are exchangeable up to 48 hours before curtain and incur a $5 per ticket fee), pending availability. Upgrade fees may apply regardless of ticket type. Call the Subscriber Hotline at (714) 708-5599 for additional information or learn more about exchanging online here.
Do you have a dress code?
No! We suggest you dress so that you're comfortable about your appearance. Theatregoers wear a variety of attire, ranging from business suits and ties to cocktail dresses to jeans and to leather jackets.
May I get a tax credit for unused tickets?
If you are unable to attend a performance, you may donate your tickets prior to the performance and receive a tax credit for the cash value of the ticket. Call SCR Ticket Services at (714) 708-5555 for further details.
May I get a refund if I can't see the show after all?
Unfortunately, no. All tickets are non-refundable.

Does my child need a ticket?
Yes. Regardless of age, everyone must have a ticket, sit in a seat and be able to sit quietly through the performance. No babes-in-arms are allowed to any performances. A note about ages for our shows: No children under age six will be admitted to regular performances or to A Christmas Carol; no children under age four will be admitted to Theatre for Young Audiences and Junior, Teen and Summer Players performances.
Where do I park?
The most convenient, secure parking for SCR patrons is available in the structure off Anton Boulevard and Park Center Drive. A $12 parking charge—cash only—will be collected as you enter. You will need to retain the receipt to exit the parking structure using the automated gate kiosk. Please note that this parking structure is not owned or operated by South Coast Repertory. Many local restaurants offer complimentary parking during SCR performances. Go to Map.
Do you serve alcoholic beverages?
Yes. The SCR Playwrights Bar is open before curtain and during all intermissions. You may order your intermission drink before the show to avoid the rush.
May I have food and drink in the theatre when I watch the show?
With the exception of Theatre for Young Audiences performances, you may take beverages into the theatre with you. All drinks must have a lid to prevent spillage. Drinks with lids are available at the Playwrights Bar or concession counters. No food is allowed in any theatre.
What services do you offer disabled patrons?
We request that you make special seating arrangements with us in advance. For more information, call SCR Ticket Services at (714) 708-5555. Certified Service Animals are welcome at SCR.
Do you offer listening devices for those who may have hearing impairment?
Free headsets to amplify the stage sound may be borrowed in the lobby before the performance with a photo ID or credit card for deposit. (Subject to availability.)
Do I have to turn off my cell phone during the performance?
Yes. It's a courtesy to other patrons and to the performers on stage. We ask that you turn to non-audible or turn off ALL electronic devices (e.g. phones, tablets). Please do not text during a performance.
I really like the look of the set. May I take photographs of it?
You may take photographs of the stage/set before the performance, during intermission or after the show. However, no photography (or videotaping or other recording) is allowed DURING the performance.
How would I be contacted in case of emergency?
If you expect calls during a performance, you may leave your seat number with the House Manager and give SCR’s number (714-708-5500/press 9 at announcement) to your telephone service. If your cell phone, in non-audible mode, notifies of an incoming call, please leave the theatre before you answer the call or check for a message.
What time does the lobby open before a performance?
The lobby opens one hour before each show.
May I visit the actors?
Friends of the performers should remain in the lobby and inform the House Manager that they wish to visit with the actors. Insurance provisions prohibit unescorted guests backstage.

Does SCR offer American Sign Language (ASL)-Interpreted Performances?
Each Segerstrom and Argyros Stage subscription play, Theatre for Young Audiences plays and A Christmas Carol offers one ASL-interpreted performance on a select Saturday matinee of the run (please see calendar). Do you rent your facility?
