​Madhuri Shekar​ is a playwright from California and India, now based in New York. Her award-winning plays include In Love and Warcraft (Alliance Theatre and others), A Nice Indian Boy (East West Players), Queen (Victory Gardens) and House of Joy. In addition her work has been developed at Center Theatre Group, South Coast Repertory, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Hedgebrook Playwrights Festival, ​The Kennedy Center, Atlantic Theatre and The Old Globe. She is currently a playwriting fellow at Juilliard, and a member of the Ma Yi Writers Lab and the Ars Nova Play Group. @madplays
