We are committed to the safety of our students, teachers and staff and are embracing the most up-to-date state and local guidelines and requirements for safety and sanitation. We are remaining informed and communicating them to our Conservatory families in advance of classes, and if they change, we will be sharing that also. We appreciate your cooperation with these safety measures as we work to keep all our students, teachers, staff and families healthy.
At this time all of our faculty and staff are vaccinated. We understand that not all students are eligible to be vaccinated; therefore, at this time vaccinations are not required for students.
All students and teachers are required to wear facial masks that cover their mouth and nose, and remain masked at all times while inside the building. Cloth, surgical and KN95 masks are all acceptable. Masks with exhalation valves, gaiters, bandanas, scarves, etc. are not permitted. Face shields will not be accepted as mask substitutes. Face coverings worn over the nose and mouth are recommended by the CDC as a highly effective way to help prevent asymptomatic carriers from unknowingly spreading the virus.
We are asking any student who has been feeling under the weather, has had a fever within the past 24 hours, has had contact with or exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or has tested positive themselves to PLEASE stay home. If you’re not sure what to do, call the Conservatory office at (714) 708-5510. The same policy applies to our teachers and staff. We will respect your privacy to the fullest extent and thank you for your cooperation.
All our classes will be held indoors. Some instructors may, however, decide to hold part of some classes outside, as weather permits.
Limited Class Size
To best support health protocols, we are limiting all classes to 14 students. Should circumstances change, or special exceptions need to be made, we will consider altering this number. Enrollment will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up early to save your spot! If a class is full, we will begin a wait list so we can accommodate you if a space opens up.
As students enter their classrooms, they’ll be encouraged to sanitize their hands. We will provide hand sanitizer for student and staff use, although students are welcome to bring their own if they have special skin needs.
Physical distancing in theatre classes can be tricky at times. Whenever possible, students will be spaced the recommended three feet apart.
Food and Drink
Some of our younger classes will be breaking for snacks. Breaks will be held outside, weather permitting, so students can safely remove their masks to eat. As customary, please do not bring snacks with peanuts or tree nuts due to allergies.
Our HVAC systems have been upgraded with MERV-14 filters as per CDC recommendations and continue to be checked and maintained on a regular schedule.
