For those who might not be familiar with Once, the smash-hit musical is based on the 2007 acclaimed indie film by Irish filmmaker John Carney. The charming story of an Irish busker named “Guy” and a Czech immigrant named “Girl” who connect through their songwriting and fall in love, resonated with audiences around the world. Adapted into a stage musical with a book by Enda Walsh and music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová (who both starred in the original film), Once made its off-Broadway debut in 2011 and then went on to Broadway in 2012, winning eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The music of Once is so incredible that we can’t wait any longer to share it with you! So, join us on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at SCR for this free, music performance by the cast of Once. See you there!
