A Midsummer Night's Dream
by William Shakespeare
directed by Hisa Takakuwa
May 14-22, 2016
Once upon a summer evening, four young lovers flee into The Woods, only to discover strange things are happening! There’s magic, mayhem and mistaken identity—caused by a very naughty imp named Puck—and for a while, the whole world is thrown out of joint. But what fun to join in the dream, knowing lives will be transformed in wonderful ways, and by daylight all will be well.
Some of Shakespeare’s most engaging characters include the humans (and their battling king and queen), a band of very silly actors and a forest full of fantastical fairies. They’re all portrayed by the Teen Players, students (grades 9-12), chosen by audition after at least two years in SCR’s Theatre Conservatory, a year-round actor training program.
