MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

On Dec. 4, 1956, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins gathered for one night to play music—and ended up making history. Go inside one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll jam sessions ever recorded with four legendary musicians. Described as “dazzling” by New York Magazine, this Tony Award-nominated musical will have you rocking down memory lane with more than 20 chart-topping hits like “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “I Walk the Line” and “Who Do You Love.”

Chris Clark

Chris Marsh Clark* (Johnny Cash) (he/him) is so happy to return to SCR as the Man in Black. Clark recently wrapped up a year on the national tour of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, understudying Neil-Then. Other credits include Tully in Escape to Margaritaville (first national tour and Forestburgh Playhouse), Johnny Cash in Million Dollar Quartet (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), Tommy Devito in Jersey Boys (North Shore Music Theatre and Theatre by the Sea), Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre), The REV Theatre Company and Music Theatre Wichita. JP Coletta

JP Coletta* (Jerry Lee Lewis) is an actor and musician based out of New York City. He is making his SCR debut. Recently, he was seen as Jerry Lee Lewis in Milwaukee Repertory Theater production of Million Dollar Quartet. Other credits include the tour/cruise ship productions of A Charlie Brown Christmas, Million Dollar Quartet and Grease; regionally in Little Shop of Horrors (Studio Tenn Theatre Company), A Christmas Carol (McCarter Theatre Center) Million Dollar Quartet (various), Million Dollar Quartet Christmas (original cast), We Ain’t Ever Gonna Break Up: The Hymon and Parfunkel Story (​The Phoenix Theater), Almost Heaven: Songs of John Denver, Godspell, White Christmas, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music, Urinetown and Sweeney Todd. Armando Gutierrez

Armando Gutierrez* (Carl Perkins) is living the dream! He was last seen at SCR in The Old Man and The Old Moon. His New York credits include Signature Theater, Minetta Lane Theatre and Atlantic Theater Company. He starred in the world premiere of Run, Bambi, Run at Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the Actor/Musician revival of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at Cincinnati Playhouse, and composed an original score for Primary Trust at Syracuse Stage. Gutierrez is the bandleader for Jefferson McDonald’s Great Balls of Fire (currently touring) and the bass player for Saddlemen (albums available on all streaming platforms). Austin Gutierrez

Austin Gutierrez* (W.S. "Fluke" Holland) is a Huntington Beach-born, New York City-based drummer. He has been featured in three productions of Venice Theater’s Buddy Lives! (2018, 2019, 2020). Most recently, he played drums and co-arranged for Princess Caribbean Cruises’ Jefferson McDonald’s Great Balls of Fire (2022). Outside of productions, you can find Gutierrez playing local clubs with his various bands, including Saddlemen and Anti Heroes, a Taylor Swift live cover band. Special thanks to his parents for fostering a love and dedication to music and spreading inspiration.


Doshima Iyorlu

Doshima Iyorlu (Understudy) Hailing from Sacramento, CA, Iyorlu is thrilled to be making her regional theatre debut in Million Dollar Quartet at South Coast Repertory and honored to work alongside such a stellar team! After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from California State University, Long Beach, she is currently working towards her Master’s in Acting at the University of California, Irvine and is expected to graduate in 2027.


Matt MacNelly

Matthew MacNelly* (Understudy) is an actor, musician, director and producer living in Los Angeles. He’s thrilled to be back to once again understudy Million Dollar Quartet here at SCR. Last summer, he played Matheson and Co-Music Directed The Old Man and the Old Moon, and before that worked as Music Director on Cambodian Rock Band. MacNelly has been playing guitar and writing original music since he was 14. His acting credits in Southern California include Woyzeck (ETC, Santa Barbara), Glengarry Glen Ross, Our Town (La Jolla Playhouse) and Three Plays in a Tattoo Shop (The Trip Theater). He has a BA from Georgetown University and an MFA in acting from the University of California, San Diego.


Michael Manuel

Michael Manuel* (Sam Phillips) is happy to be returning to SCR where he last appeared in A Christmas Carol and as Editor Webb in Our Town. Also at SCR, Boris in Amos and Boris, Madame Pernelle in Tartuffe, Big Stone in Eurydice, Francis Flute/Thisbe in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and in numerous readings and workshops since 1994. He has worked in regional theatres across the country including Alley Theatre, Empty Space Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Berkeley Repertory, Arena Stage, Shakespeare Theatre Company DC, Group Theater, Yale Repertory Theatre, New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, among others. In L.A., he has worked with A Noise Within (Ovation, LADCC Awards for Frankenstein), Pasadena Playhouse (LADCC for The Father), Mark Taper Forum, Cornerstone Theater Company, Shakespeare Festival LA, Geffen Playhouse, Interact Theatre Company, UCB, Main Street Players, and Impro Theatre where he is a member of the Main Company. He has appeared in numerous television programs and films, including the upcoming feature Redux Redux directed by the McManus Brothers. Manuel is an Acting Coach and has served as the coach and creative consultant for John Legend: An Evening of Songs and Stories. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama and a 2023 Lunt-Fontanne Fellow.


Ana Marcu

Ana Marcu* (Dyanne) (she/her) returns to SCR after having appeared in The Old Man and The Old Moon. Her New York and Off-Broadway credits include Georama (Playwrights Horizons), 90210! The Musical! (Theatre 80), Gogol (Todd Almond, Josh Schmidt) and Chapters (Alanya Bridge). Her regional and touring credits include Sunny Afternoon (Chicago Shakespeare Theater); Almost Heaven (Weston Theater Company); Once, Peter Pan and Hairspray (Syracuse Stage); Jersey Boys (Theatre Aspen); A Christmas Carol (Alabama Shakespeare Festival); Once (California Center for the Arts, Escondido); Disney on Classic (Japan National Tour); Man of La Mancha (Arizona Theatre Company); As You Like It (Great River Shakespeare Festival); and The Music Man (Oregon Shakespeare Festival). Rustin Sailors

Rustin Cole Sailors* (Elvis Presley) is thrilled to “enter the building!” and be back at SCR reprising this iconic role. He was last seen shaking his Elvis hips in Million Dollar Quartet at Outside SCR at Mission San Juan Capistrano and Lincolnshire Marriott Theatre. Sailors made his SCR debut in the critically-acclaimed production of Once. His portrayal of Guy won him Best Actor in a Musical by BroadwayWorld. Currently, Sailors can be found on Amazon Prime, portraying Lucien Maxwell in the 4th season of “Into The Wild Frontier” and the premiere episode of ABC’s “The Prank Panel.” Sailors has been a proud AEA member since his Las Vegas Venetian debut as Drew in Broadway’s sit-down production of Rock of Ages. He also starred as the Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Sierra Repertory Theatre. Other notable credits include Deaf West Theatre’s Los Angeles revival of Broadway’s Spring Awakening as Voice of Moritz, Hair at the Hollywood Bowl, RENT (Roger), Les Misérables (Marius) and For the Record: The Brat Pack for NCL (Rebel). “Thanks to family friends and my team @Infin8artists.” @rustinsailors


Sam Saint Ours

Sam Saint Ours* (Understudy) is stoked beyond words to be making his SCR debut, and honored to cover such iconic roles among this amazing cast. As a weathered swing and actor-musician (and West Coast wannabe), this production seems a perfect fit! Previous performing credits include several productions of Once as Eamon, Billy, and male swing (Rubicon Theatre Company, Engeman Theatre, and 2019 national tour); Bright Star as Jimmy Ray—for which he also played banjo (Theatre West); Billy Bishop Goes to War as Narrator, and The Lion in Winter as Philip (Cape May Stage); Oil as Nate (Olney Theatre Center); Wonderland: Alice’s Rock and Roll Adventure (Atlantic Theatre Company). He performed the majority of Shakespeare’s canon over three years as a resident company member with the American Shakespeare Center, including such roles as Bertram in All’s Well That Ends Well, Alonso in The Tempest, and Antipholus S. in The Comedy of Errors. Music directing and composing credits include dozens of shows with the American Shakespeare Center, Mill Mountain Theatre, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, Laguna Playhouse, James Madison University, and more. Wyatt Wireman

Wyatt Wireman* (Brother Jay) is a freelance bass player in Los Angeles CA. Previous musical theater engagements include productions of Guys and Dolls at Spokane Civic Theatre, South Pacific with the Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, and Million Dollar Quartet with South Coast Repertory’s Outside SCR summer series. Wireman is experienced in multiple genres and has performed with diverse ensembles across Washington, Ohio, and California. He is currently studying with multiple teachers in the Los Angeles area. When not playing music, he can be found rock climbing, and enjoying the mountains around Southern California having recently summited Mt. Whitney in 14 hours up the Mountaineer’s Route. Wireman is originally from Richland, WA.

Colin Escott ​was born in England and lives near Nashville, Tennessee. He is the author of Good Rockin’ Tonight: Sun Records and the Birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll, the first in-depth account of the Sun Records story. His book Hank Williams – The Biography has been adapted into the movie I Saw the Light, starring Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen. His multi-CD box set, The Complete Hank Williams, won a Grammy, and another of his productions, B.B. King – King of the Blues, was nominated for a Grammy. Million Dollar Quartet received three Tony nominations, including Best Book and Best Musical. Escott was part of the writing/producing team adapting the show for  CMT/Viacom. The first season aired in 2016.

Floyd Mutrux apprenticed at the Alley Theatre in Houston and worked at Second City in Chicago; he attended Columbia University. He has conceived, written, directed, or produced 50 films, including Dusty and Sweets McGeeFreebie and the BeanAloha, Bobby and RoseThe Hollywood KnightsAmerican Hot WaxDick TracyAmerican MeBlood In, Blood OutThere Goes My Baby; and Mulholland Falls. With his wife Birgitte, he is preparing a new film, Moon Over Memphis (a rock-and-roll Field of Dreams.) He also cowrote the musical  Baby It’s You! with Colin Escott and helped adapt Sun Records, the new television series based on Million Dollar QuartetMillion Dollar Quartet received three Tony Award nominations in 2010, including best book and best musical.

James Moye (Director) is thrilled to return to SCR with Million Dollar Quartet, after directing it at Outside SCR in 2022. Moye starred in the original Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of Million Dollar Quartet as Sam Phillips. Last year, he portrayed Rita’s Dad in the world premiere of Prelude to a Kiss, The Musical at SCR. His other acting credits include nine Broadway shows, seven off-Broadway shows, tours, and many regional productions. He has been seen on screen in Fair Game (with Sean Penn) and his television credits include “Law & Order,” “The Blacklist,” “Royal Pains,” and “The Mysteries of Laura.” Moye is a graduate of James Madison University, where he received the 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award. Wiley DeWeese (Music Director) is thrilled to return to SCR, where he previously music directed the world premiere of Prelude to a Kiss, The Musical. Broadway credits include The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical (also national tour and Off-Broadway), Girl from the North Country (also national tour and Off-Broadway) and Amélie (also Center Theatre Group, Berkeley Repertory Theatre). Other Off-Broadway and regional credits include All the World’s a Stage (Keen Company); Prelude to a Kiss, The Musical (Milwaukee Repertory Theater); Gatsby: An American Myth (A.R.T.); Whisper House, The Abominables (The Civilians); The Lucky Ones, The Wildness (Ars Nova); Preludes (LCT3); and First Daughter Suite and The Fortress of Solitude (The Public Theater). DeWeese served as music supervisor, orchestrator, and co-producer of the Michael Friedman Recording Project, which released 10 albums of the late composer’s work. For Mom and Dad, always.


Kim Martin-Cotten (Associate Director) has been SCR’s Associate Artistic Director for the past four years. She is a producer, director, actor and educator. Before joining SCR, she held the positions of Artistic Producer and Associate Director of New Works for Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Prior to that, as the founding Artistic Producer of Off-Broadway company Hang A Tale, she was producing in New York from 2014 through 2019, developing new work and reimagining classics. As an actor, she has performed regionally across the country, and in New York, she has been seen both off and on Broadway. Noteworthy work as an actor includes covering both Cynthia Nixon and Laura Linney in the rotating roles of Regina and Birdie for the Broadway production of The Little Foxes, as well as performing in Merchant of Venice as Portia opposite Al Pacino on Broadway. She was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance as Josie in Moon for the Misbegotten in 2012. She has taught acting as a guest lecturer at various universities including an extended position at Yale School of Drama, and has worked as a director Off-Broadway and in regional theatres.

Efren Delgadillo, Jr. (Co-Scenic Design) (he/him) is designing his eighth production with SCR. Recent projects include Quixote Nuevo, Merry Wives of Windsor and Into the Woods (Oregon Shakespeare Festival). His work spans regional theaters and experimental stages across the country. He is the recipient of Henry Awards for Denver Center for the Performing Arts productions of In The Upper Room and Quixote Nuevo. He was also nominated for an Ovation Award for Best Scenic Design for Culture Clash’s Bordertown, as well as a Barrymore Award in Outstanding Scenic Design for Bienvenidos Blancos with Team Sunshine Corporation. Delgadillo earned his MFA in Scenic Design from California Institute of the Arts and a BFA in Studio Arts from University of California, Irvine. He is the head of Scenic Design at UC Irvine.


Brandon PT Davis (Co-Scenic Design) is an Orange County-based scenic designer and former Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at the Stephens College Conservatory for the Performing Arts, where he taught for three years. He is making his SCR design debut. His recent work includes All’s Well That Ends Well and Much Ado About Nothing at the New Swan Shakespeare Festival, and Bell, Book, and Candle, Deathtrap and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at the Okoboji Summer Theatre. Past designs include Guys on Ice at the Great American Melodrama, Tomás and the Library Lady and Head Over Heels at Theatre Silco. Davis is a Senior/Experiential Designer at Adaptive Design Services and a graduate of the University of California, Irvine. He is a member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829/ IATSE. Kish Finnegan (Costume Design) returns to SCR after designing Outside SCR’s productions of The Old Man and The Old Moon, American Mariachi, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Million Dollar Quartet. Her other design credits include several world premieres, most recently, SCR’s production of Joan about comedy legend Joan Rivers and Arizona Theatre Company’s Bob and Jean, A Love Story. She also designed the world premieres of ATC’s musical Justice; The Kite Runner at San Jose Repertory Theatre, The Tutor at The Village Theatre in Washington, and a one-woman version of A Christmas Carol with Phoenix-based Childsplay. Finnegan is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts and began her career designing costumes for Team USA Synchronized Swimming and aquatic shows in Las Vegas, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.


Lonnie Rafael Alcaraz (Lighting Design) recent designs include The Comedy of Errors at the Great River Shakespeare Festival, Jitney at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Cinderella at Syracuse Stage, and I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter at Denver Center for the Performing Arts. He also recently toured The White Feather, A Persian Ballet Tale with INTUITV ARTSHIP to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and New York City. Recent designs at SCR include all four years for Outside SCR and he will be designing the Gala in October. He has a long history with Culture Clash and recently designed their 40th Anniversary Gala in LA and San Diego. He has designed productions at SCR since 1994, including A Raisin in the Sun, Million Dollar Quartet, American Mariachi, A Shot Rang Out, Outside Mullingar, The Whipping Man, Long Road Today/El Largo Camino de Hoy, La Posada Mágica, Culture Clash in AmeriCCa, Doubt—a parable, My Wandering Boy, and many others. He is a Co-Associate Artistic Director at the Great River Shakespeare Festival. Alcaraz is a member of the United Scenic Artists, Local 829/International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. Jeff Polunas (Sound Design) (he/they) is thrilled to be designing for his 16th consecutive year collaborating with SCR after last year’s The Old Man and The Old Moon at Outside SCR. Polunas is the Assistant Professor of Sound Design at Kent State University. He received his MFA in sound design from UC Irvine. He received the BroadwayWorld Cleveland Award in 2024 for his sound design of Jesus Christ Superstar and the Scenie Awards (StageSceneLA) for Sound Design in 2015 and 2017 and has been nominated for NAACP, BroadwayWorld, Stage Raw and Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival awards. Polunas has designed more than 160 productions during his career, including La Havana Madrid, She Loves Me, Shakespeare in Love, The Sisters Rosensweig, Venus in Fur, Ella Enchanted and Between Us Chickens (SCR); Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, A Winter’s Tale (Great River Shakespeare Festival); Everybody (Cleveland Play House); Cost of Living (Fountain Theatre); Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Antaeus Theatre Company); A Doll’s House, Part 2, Silent Sky, Fences, Abigail/1702 and Uncanny Valley (International City Theatre); Passion Play, Seminar and A Bright New Boise (Chance Theater); and Company, Man Who Came to Dinner and The Importance of Being Earnest (PCPA Theaterfest).


Kathryn Davies* (Stage Manager) previously stage-managed Little Shop of Horrors, The Old Man and The Old Moon, Million Dollar Quartet, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Velveteen Rabbit, Poor Yella Rednecks, Sugar Plum Fairy, Orange, The Roommate, All the Way, Red, Vietgone, The Whipping Man, Tartuffe, Reunion, Trudy and Max in Love, The Motherf**ker with the Hat, Sight Unseen, Topdog/Underdog, In the Next Room or the vibrator play, Doctor Cerberus, Ordinary Days and Our Mother’s Brief Affair—all at SCR. Recent credits include The Play That Goes Wrong and Fiddler on the Roof for McCoy Rigby Entertainment at La Mirada Theatre, Don Giovanni at San Diego Opera and The Barber of Seville at LA Opera. Her favorite credits include The Wars at the Grand Theatre; Dividing the Estate at Dallas Theater Center; La Bohème at Tulsa Opera; The Mystery of Irma Vep at The Old Globe; Les Contes D’Hoffmann at Hawai’i Opera Theatre; Of Mice and Men at Neptune Theatre; Skylight at Tarragon Theatre; and To Kill a Mockingbird at Citadel Theatre. Davies also worked as head theatre manager at the Toronto International, Dubai International, AFI, TCM and Los Angeles film festivals.


Lauren Buangan* (Assistant Stage Manager) is a stage manager based out of the Orange County and Los Angeles area. Her previous SCR stage management credits include You Are Cordially Invited To The End Of The World!, Wish You Were Here, Joan, Coleman ’72, A Christmas Carol, Nina Simone: Four Women and Million Dollar Quartet, among others. She has also served as assistant stage manager at Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles on Tiny Father, Fat Ham and The Lonely Few. Buangan holds a BA in Theater from UCLA, a Certificate of Achievement in Film from Orange Coast College, and studied drama at Queen Mary University of London.
