SCR casts actors who are members of Actors Equity Association with some exceptions pending cast size. Non-union talent if often cast by actors in our local community as well as former and current students of SCR's Acting Intensive Program. FINANCE DIRECTOR
SCR is seeking a Finance Director to oversee the daily financial operations of the theatre. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervision of accounting and financial reporting for operating, PP&E and endowment funds; annual audit, tax reporting. This role serves as the primary liaison for portfolio managers (Canterbury Consulting). The Finance Director will work directly with the General Manager to provide a key function in all financial reporting for grants, surveys, and the budget. This position also supervises the Accounting Department, including a Lead Accountant and Payables Accountant. A great fit for this role means you have an accounting or business management background with an interest in supporting the arts and/or nonprofit organizations. This position requires higher education (Accounting, Business, or Theatre Management) and/or 5+ years of related experience based on the level of responsibilities. TECHNICAL DIRECTOR – SCR seeks a Technical Director to lead and supervise our scenery department, which includes a full-time Assistant Technical Director, Master Carpenter, Automations Operator, and a part-time team of overhire carpenters. This team is responsible for budgeting, constructing/installing, and maintaining the show scenic elements for our 8-show season, conservatory productions, and special events. PROPS ARTISAN
SCR seeks a Props Artisan to join our Prop Shop team, which also includes a Props Supervisor, Assistant Props Supervisor, and a team of overhires. This role is essential to the fabrication and upkeep of the props for our 8-show season, conservatory productions, and special events. A great fit for this role means you enjoy being a hands-on craftsperson and problem-solving collaboratively with a diverse team of designers. Alongside the rest of the Props team, this position participates in the load-in and strike of props, set dressing, and maintenance for all productions, as well as the organization of props storage. SCENIC ARTIST OVERHIRE – South Coast Repertory is seeking experienced Scenic Artists to join our overhire pool for our 23/24 season. These positions require a range of skills: layout, color matching and mixing, cartooning, sculpting, faux finishes, detail painting techniques, and experience with spray equipment. WIG, HAIR, & MAKEUP TECHNICIANS
South Coast Repertory is continuously accepting applications for Wig, Hair, & Makeup Technician crew members to help run our shows. General requirements include backstage experience, hair styling skills, makeup application skills, reliability, and strong people skills. Wig & facial hair experience is a plus, but we’re happy to teach necessary skills as needed. Wig, Hair, & Makeup Technicians are hired on a show-to-show basis with typical shows running 4-5 weeks and occasional sub coverage. Pay is $20/hr plus paid parking.
