South Coast Repertory operates its Segerstrom and Argyros Stage theatres under LORT (League of Resident Theatres) B and D contracts. The theatre also produces three Theatre for Young Audiences productions that operate under a TYA contract. SCR casts actors who are members of Actors Equity Association with some exceptions pending cast size. Non-union talent can be cast by actors in the local community as well as former and current students of SCR's Acting Intensive Program. PRODUCTION MANAGER - South Coast Repertory seeks is a Production Manager to supervise all areas of production including long-range and season planning and scheduling, budgeting, allocating resources, contracting employees and designers, monitoring progress of all production elements while maintaining high standards for all productions. The Production Manager facilitates the overall production process, overseeing the day-to-day operation of the following departments: Scenery, Props, Scenic Art, Costumes, Electrics, Wigs, Hair and Make-up, Audio/Video, and Stage Management. The Production department supports the technical and physical elements of all SCR productions including: 4 Segerstrom Stage (including the annual production of A Christmas Carol), 3 Argyros Stage (including 1 Theatre for Young Audiences production), OUTSIDE SCR—which currently consists of one production at the Mission San Juan Capistrano each Summer, Conservatory productions, and fundraising and promotional events. On individual productions, where significant issues or artistic concerns arise, the Production Manager will report directly to the Artistic Director. PROPS SUPERVISOR – SCR seeks a Props Supervisor to join our Production team. This position leads and supervises the prop department, which includes an Assistant Props Supervisor, Props Buyer, and Props Assistant. This team is responsible for the prop and set dressing needs for our 8-show season, conservatory productions, and special events. A great fit for this role means you enjoy leading and collaborating with a diverse group of artisans and designers and can set clear expectations for project completion dates and design execution. SCENIC CHARGE ARTIST – South Coast Repertory seeks an experienced Scenic Charge Artist to oversee operations of our Paint Shop. This role is essential to leading and motivating a diverse team of scenic artists throughout our 8-show season, conservatory productions, and special events. A great fit for this role means you enjoy collaborating with designers, creative problem-solving, and being hands-on with your art. MASTER CARPENTER – SCR seeks a Master Carpenter to assist with the leadership of our Scene Shop. This role is essential to the building and upkeep of the sets for our 8-show season, conservatory productions, and special events. A great fit for this role means you enjoy being a hands-on craftsman and team leader equally. This position works in support of the Technical Directors through scenic builds, load-ins, and strikes with a diverse team of staff and overhire carpenters. SCENIC CARPENTER – South Coast Repertory seeks Scenic Carpenters to be an essential member of the production team working with exciting directors, designers, and our experienced staff over a 12 show season that includes new works, festivals, youth conservatory and a summer outdoor repertory. Applicants should have a BA in theatrical construction or equivalent training and a solid understanding of scenic construction methods and best practices. AUDIO ENGINEER/BOARD OPERATOR – SCR seeks a full-time Audio Engineer/Board Operator to join the Production team. This position is integral to the running of show sound operations for our 8-show season, conservatory productions, and special events. A great fit for this role means you value collaborative team environments and enjoy creative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience as an audio engineer and live mixer for musicals is highly desired with our diverse seasonal programming. PROPS OVERHIRE – SCR seeks props artisans and carpenters to join the Props overhire pool. These roles are filled on an as needed basis to support the props construction, maintenance, and organization operations for each of our 8-show season, conservatory productions, and special events. PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER - South Coast Repertory is seeking experience Production Stage Managers to join our pool for our 22/23 season. This is not a full-time position, but shall be a contracted member of Actor’s Equity Association. Responsibilities are to coordinate and manage the rehearsal, technical rehearsals, and running of production. PSMs are hired on a project to project basis. COSTUMES – The Costume Department is currently taking resumes for cutter/drapers, first hands, and crafts artisans. These are short term assignments varying from two to eight weeks as the production requirements demand. The Costume Shop operates from 9:00-6:00 Monday thru Friday. SCENIC ARTIST OVERHIRE - South Coast Repertory is seeking experienced Scenic Artists to join our overhire pool for our 22/23 season. These positions require a range of skills: layout, color matching and mixing, cartooning, sculpting, faux finishes, detail painting techniques, and experience with spray equipment. Fine art background and experience working in a fast-paced shop environment are a plus. Overhires are hired on a project to project basis. Starting rate begins at $20/hr. based on experience. OVERHIRE PRODUCTION TECHNICIANS, ALL FIELDS – South Coast Repertory is accepting resumes for its Production Overhire lists. Each year, SCR supplements its full time staff with up to 150 overhire technicians to help build and run its productions. Positions regularly hired include carpenters, automation technicians, deck crew, props artisans, painters, electricians, follow spot operators, audio technicians, video technicians, wig and makeup technicians, dressers, tailors, cutter/drapers, stitchers, craftspeople, costume design assistants, production assistants and more. TICKET SERVICES REPRESENTATIVES - Passionate about the arts? South Coast Repertory seeks friendly, outgoing individuals to join the Box Office team as a part-time Ticket Services Representatives. Engage with patrons about our season, facilitate their ticketing needs, and uphold SCR’s high standard for customer service. Be part of a creative, fast-paced, collaborative environment with training provided. Must be equally confident serving customers in-person and over the phone.  15-20 hours per week with day, evening and weekend shifts available. Bilingual a plus.
