Who benefits from a sensory friendly/relaxed performance?

Everyone is welcome to attend.

A sensory friendly/relaxed performance is designed for audience members who might benefit from a more relaxed sensory experience and casual environment, including—but not limited to—audience members on the autism spectrum, those with sensory sensitivities or learning disabilities, and their families.

We want this to be a welcoming environment and we understand that some audience members may process the performance by standing up, stimming, making noise and/or having strong reactions, or even exiting in order to take a break from the stimulus.

Why is SCR offering this?

For some, attending a live performance is an overwhelming social and sensory experience. We recognize the needs of neurodiverse families and want to affirm that we value them as part of the community that we hope to serve throughout their lifetime.

We want to make our programming welcoming to everyone in Orange County.
