Arya Shahi (Playwright) is an Iranian-American actor, writer, director and musician. He is a co-founder of PigPen Theatre Co. Broadway credits include Water for Elephants (composer). Regional credits include English (director at The Old Globe), The Old Man and The Old Moon (writer/director/performer at New Victory, The Old Globe, Writers Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Wallis), The Tale of Despereaux (writer/director/performer at Berkeley Rep, The Old Globe), The Hunter and The Bear (writer/director/performer at Writers Theatre). Albums: Bremen, The Way I’m Running, Whole Sun. Novels: An Impossible thing To Say (HarperCollins) and the forthcoming sequel. Arya has been an artist-in-residence at Manhattan Theatre Club, Ars Nova and Little Island (where he created and curated The Storytelling Festival).
