Meet the Cinderella Honorary Producers
Honorary Producers are the unseen heroes behind SCR productions. They underwrite the shows, providing funding support. Their generosity merges with the talent on stage and back stage to create the world-class theatre SCR is known for producing.
Apriem Advisors (Season Producers) is proud to champion bold and creative initiatives that exemplify the magic of theatre. Since 2016, Apriem has provided major support to SCR in numerous ways, including four consecutive years as Season Producers of Outside SCR and serving as Honorary Producers of productions such as Little Shop of Horrors, The Staircase and Prelude to a Kiss, The Musical. Apriem has also supported five Theatre for Young Audiences productions, most recently The Incredible Book Eating Boy. Co-Founder Harmon Kong and his wife, Lea—an SCR Board Trustee since 2019—are passionate advocates for the arts, and together they serve as Chairs of this fall’s reimagined Gala, PEEK! Their generosity and leadership have helped SCR thrive both on its stages and throughout the community. The Segerstrom Foundation (Lead Sponsor) has been a longstanding supporter of SCR's Theatre for Young Audiences & Families series, and over the past twenty years has impacted the lives of nearly 200,000 young people through their program support.The Segerstrom Foundation, founded in 2000, was created to support Orange County cultural art nonprofits.
Katrina Foley (Honorary Producer) currently serves as an Orange County Supervisor and Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors. Katrina was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2022 to represent the newly established District 5, which includes the cities of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, a large portion of Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, as well as the unincorporated areas of Coto de Caza, Emerald Bay, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, Rancho Mission Viejo, Stonecliffe and Wagon Wheel. This is her second term on the Board of Supervisors, where she previously served District 2. As County Supervisor, Supervisor Foley remains committed to reducing homelessness among our most vulnerable populations, investing in sustainable infrastructure and climate resiliency, protecting our beaches, parks, and open spaces, revitalizing the middle class through job creation and support for small businesses, improving access to County services, and ensuring safe neighborhoods.
Samuel & Tammy Tang (Honorary Producers) have a history of support with SCR that goes back to 2014 when they first served as Honorary Producers of tokyo fish story. Since then, they have had an impressive range of support with Cinderella: A Salsa Fairy Tale, marking the ninth production the couple has underwritten, in addition to serving as Honorary Producers of the Pacific Playwrights Festival for seven years and as members of the Playwrights Circle. They have been Opening Night subscribers for more than a decade and, through Sam’s company Montauk TriGuard, members of the Corporate Circle. Both Tammy and Sam have played active leadership roles at SCR. Sam served on the Board of Trustees for nine years, including two years as Board President. Together, they co-chaired SCR’s 2021 Gala, and the following year, Tammy served as sole chair of the 2022 Gala, Play On!. Tammy currently serves on the Board of Trustees as the Education and Outreach Committee Chair. Both Tammy and Sam heartily endorse SCR’s efforts to engage culturally diverse artists and believe passionately in the power of live theatre.
Socorro & Ernesto Vasquez (Honorary Producers) have been involved with SCR since the early 1990s and have supported 12 productions including Quixote Nuevo, Espejos: Clean, American Mariachi (both at Outside SCR and on the Segerstrom Stage) and Culture Clash (Still) in America. They also supported Destiny of Desire, another work by Karen Zacarias. In addition to their leadership support as Honorary Producers, the Vasquezes are current members of the Platinum Circle, donors to the Next Stage Campaign, and major underwriters of many SCR Galas, with Socorro having previously chaired two. In recognition of her distinguished service to the theatre, Socorro is an Emeritus Trustee of SCR. Ernesto is currently a member of the Board of Trustees.
