Meet the "Eat Me" Honorary Producers

Honorary Producers are the essential supporters who bring South Coast Repertory’s productions to life. Their generosity, paired with our artists’ talent, ensures the world-class theatre for which SCR is renowned.

Apriem Advisors (Season Producers) is proud to champion bold and creative initiatives that exemplify the magic of theatre. Since 2016, Apriem has provided major support to SCR in numerous ways, including four consecutive years as Season Producers of Outside SCR and serving as Honorary Producers of productions such as Little Shop of Horrors, The Staircase and Prelude to a Kiss, The Musical. Apriem has also supported five Theatre for Young Audiences productions, most recently The Incredible Book Eating Boy. Co-Founder Harmon Kong and his wife, Lea—an SCR Board Trustee since 2019—are passionate advocates for the arts, and together they served as Chairs of this past fall’s reimagined Gala, PEEK! Their generosity and leadership have helped SCR thrive both on its stages and throughout the community. Founded in 1998 in Irvine, California, Apriem Advisors is a wealth management firm serving multi-generational families worldwide by helping them achieve a life of significance beyond success. With a commitment to providing the highest degree of service, Apriem manages all facets of clients’ finances to help them achieve financial security and peace of mind.

Nickie and Mickey Williams (Honorary Producers) are delighted to underwrite the world premiere of Eat Me. Their support for this production was sparked last year after Mickey first experienced the play as a reading at the Pacific Playwrights Festival. Dedicated SCR enthusiasts, the couple’s history with the theater began in 2015, when Mickey introduced Nickie to SCR on one of their first dates. Since then, they have become Opening Night subscribers and loyal supporters. This marks their fifth time serving as Honorary Producers, a journey that began with their support as Playwrights Circle members, and includes their personal favorite from last season, You Are Cordially Invited to the End of the World!. Beyond the theater, Mickey and Nickie are avid foodies, animal lovers and film enthusiasts. In addition to her role as President of the Center for Senior Wellbeing, Nickie serves on the SCR Board of Trustees. As a couple who live with passion and a shared dedication to cultivating life’s pleasures, they remain committed to championing bold new stories and playwrights.

Established in 2002, The Playwrights Circle (Honorary Producer) is a visionary consortium of donors dedicated to championing SCR’s leadership as one of the nation’s foremost producers of new work. By directly underwriting a world-premiere production each season, this group of avid playgoers ensures the creation and launch of bold stories that shape the future of American theatre. This commitment has supported an illustrious roster of writers, including Lucas Hnath (A Doll’s House, Part 2), Lauren Gunderson (Silent Sky), Kemp Powers (Little Black Shadows), and Beau Willimon (The Parisian Woman). Members enjoy unique insider access to SCR’s creative process and the artists who bring these world premieres to life. SCR is profoundly grateful to the Playwrights Circle for its leadership and dedication to bringing vital new plays to Orange County audiences and beyond.
