Recognizing Some Special Artists
Collectively, they appeared in 401 SCR productions. They made a combined 201 appearances in A Christmas Carol, which was adapted by one of their group and directed for 40 years by another.
They played important, behind-the-scenes roles in SCR’s early days, putting their indelible mark on the theatre as not only talented actors, directors, writers and as a dramaturg, but as professionals in the truest sense of the word. Their contributions to SCR went beyond the stage. In the theatre’s early days, they did whatever it took to build SCR into the institution it is today. If there was a job that needed doing, they did it, no matter how big or small.
And last week, SCR honored SCR Founding Members Richard Doyle, Hal Landon Jr. and Art Koustik, along with longtime actor/director John-David Keller and SCR’s resident dramaturg Jerry Patch, by dedicating a seat in each of their names in the Segerstrom Stage.
You can find their seats on “Founders Row,” previously known as Row K, on house right. Their seats are next to those for Founding Members Don Took and Martha McFarland.
Pictured above in their seats are Patch, Landon Jr., Koustik and Doyle.
