Saluting the Honorary Producers

Honorary Producers are the unseen heroes behind SCR productions. They underwrite the shows, providing funding support. Their generosity merges with the talent on stage and back stage to create the world-class theatre SCR is known for producing.

Julia Voce served as an Honorary Producer for Galilee, 34 last spring. She was introduced to that play when she served as an Honorary Producer for the 25th Pacific Playwrights Festival in 2023, during that play’s staged reading. Now, Voce returns as Honorary Producer for another PPF alum—You Are Cordially Invited to the End of the World!. Voce was a six-year member of The Playwrights Circle, where she helped underwrite several world premiere productions, including Little Black Shadows, Sheepdog and Clean/Espejos. Voce joined SCR’s Board of Trustees last year and brings with her a strong passion and advocacy for the arts.

Nickie and Mickey Williams return to serve as Honorary Producers for a fourth time, previously underwriting A Raisin in the Sun, Nina Simone: Four Women and American Mariachi and producing Clean/Espejos as members of the Playwrights Circle. Mickey had been a longtime subscriber when he first introduced Nickie to South Coast Repertory back in 2015 on one of their first dates. They love to attend the First Nights’ events and hope their support will encourage others to join them in supporting stories well told.
