Restoration Complete on Production Center
With a new roof and a few improvements, South Coast Repertory’s 18,000 square foot Production Center is back in operation, following a nine-month restoration project. More than 100,000 costume pieces, along with tens of thousands of props and furniture pieces and building supplies are back in storage and scenic artists are working daily in the paint studio to get the next production ready for the stage. There are also a few improvements, including an HVAC system to provide climate control in the storage areas and remodeled restrooms.
On Jan. 26 following a rain storm, the roof collapsed over a 4,500 square foot section of the building. No one was in the building at the time.
