Student Groups
Note: Group orders must have 10 or more people to qualify for the group discount. SCR has strict guidelines for children and babies. Read more on our Group Ticket FAQs for important details. Since not all shows are appropriate for all age groups, please see each productions page for age recommendations. .
2023-24 Student Matinee Performances
Student matinee performances are not open to the general public. Group orders must have 10 or more people.
- A Christmas Carol - Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 11:30 a.m.
A Christmas Carol - Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m. - Alice's Wonderland - Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 9:30 a.m.
RUN TIMES: A Christmas Carol is approximately two hours, including one 15-minute intermission. No one under the age of 6 will be admitted to A Christmas Carol.
Rates
Theatre for Young Audiences matinee (Ages 4+): $7 per student
School-time matinee of A Christmas Carol (Ages 6+): $29 per student
Segerstrom and Argyros Stage (excludes Sunday matinees): $12 per student

Pricing for musical productions vary. Please contact the Box Office for special musical rates.
- Complimentary tickets for group organizer are available upon request
- For every 15 paid tickets, your group may receive one complimentary ticket
- For A Christmas Carol, one complimentary ticket for every 50 paid tickets
- Limit two (2) complimentary tickets per group
- Complimentary ticket is based on the lowest-priced ticket
Payment
- Payment is due at time of reservation
- Payment plan options are available by request for non-profit organizations at the time of reservation
- 50% deposit due at time of reservation
- Final installment is due one month before your performance date
- Orders placed less than three weeks before a performance must be paid in full at the time of reservation
- Final installment is due one month before your performance date
- All group orders include a $6 processing fee
Note: If a change to your order occurs and a deposit has been paid, an adjustment to the final payment will reflect the added or subtracted seats. Payments toward your order are non-refundable. Tickets are non-exchangeable.
Seating
- There are no seat assignments for student matinees. Student groups will be seated upon arrival at the theatre.
- For public performances, the student discount is available for Sections A and B; seating is subject to availability.
- Each theatregoer must have a ticket, including children.
Ticket Delivery for Public Performances
- Tickets will be held at Will Call for the date of the performance.
- If you would like your tickets mailed to you, a Ticket Sales Associate will email a ticket manifest that will list the row and number of each seat. Once you have completed the ticket manifest—by assigning each seat to a student and returning it to the theatre—your tickets will be mailed to you. This will allow the Box Office to reprint any lost tickets on the day of the performance.
Ticket Delivery for Student Matinees
- No tickets are issued for student matinee performances.
Special Needs
- Please advise us if any members of your group have special needs—including difficulty navigating stairs, use of wheelchairs or walkers or certified service animals—at the time you place your reservation.
- SCR does offer American Sign Language-interpreted performances.
School Matinee Performance
- After reserving your matinee performance, your group organizer will receive a reminder and confirmation three weeks prior to your scheduled performance.
- Study Guides – Online guides are available free of charge for specific productions.
